The holiday season is upon us! This is a time for family, decorating, and attending holiday parties! Unsure if your holiday look is too subtle or too much? Getting your holiday makeup right could be tricky- especially if you’re playing with seasonal colors. Let High Style Help you out!
Do: play with shimmery eyeshadows. Shades of gold and silver (and even a subtle red!) work perfectly on the eyelids to add that holiday flair to your eye makeup routine. Add some false eyelashes to create an even more beautiful look!
Don’t: forget an eyeshadow primer! Shimmery shadows will only stay on your eyelids if you apply a primer beforehand. Otherwise, you’ll notice your face shimmering throughout the day from the fallout! (Our choice of eyeshadow primer is linked below.)
Do: Add a touch of color to your face with blush. Winter months can leave our skin looking dull and dry, and blush is the answer!
Don’t: Go overboard with a highly pigmented cream or liquid blush. Powder blush works best in winter months since our skin is paler during this time. Make sure you blend until the blush is natural and smooth on the cheeks to avoid having doll-like pink cheeks.
Do: Take your time creating your holiday looks. A rushed makeup application can cause patchy areas on the face as well as unblended areas.
Don’t: Forget to take your makeup off correctly at the end of the day. Washing your face and exfoliating with a cleanser is key to maintaining healthy, blemish free skin. Beautiful skin is the perfect canvas for makeup application.
